Yes. We recommend raw bones for dogs that have been on a raw diet for at least 2 weeks. This length of time usually allows the dog's stomach to become more acidic to deal with chewed bones. Unlike cooked bones, raw bones can be a safe and healthy addition to your pet’s diet, aiding in mental stimulation, teeth cleaning, and providing nutrient-dense marrow. 

Caution: Please always supervise a dog chewing a bone and also make sure not to feed too many marrow bones as they may trigger pancreatitis.

Dog bones are categorized into:

  1. Fully consumable bones like chicken necks, lamb necks and meaty bones generally non-weight bearing bones, which are edible and
  2. Recreational bones like knuckles and femurs, which provide mental stimulation and teeth cleaning. With all dog bones, we strongly advise that you have to be present to monitor your dog. For recreational bones, know your dog's chewing habits is key.
    • We DO NOT recommend femurs for dog's who tend to try to crack through bones or have had pancreatitis.
    • Don't feed small bones that can be easily swallowed. Happy chewing
